Learn how to make a quilt from start to finish. This class teaches all the tools, basic skills, terminology and hands-on experience to make a quilt. Student chooses lap or baby sized quilt. 6 sessions.

In this class, students will select a beginner level pattern, and learn how to measure and cut a commercial pattern. Course includes each step from this pattern prep through cutting and sewing of the completed garment. Introduction to Sewing or some previous sewing experience is required for this course. 4 consecutive Tuesdays. Call Barbara Green at 818-383-1155 to reserve your spot.

In this class you will learn about the basics of cutting a traditional Hawaiian applique, needle turning and hand quilting. You will make a small sample piece and leave with all of the basics and some history of the craft. Additional Kit Fee: $7.00

If you have taken our Beginning Quilting and want to expand your skills, this is the next step. We will take the pattern from Beginning Quilting and work with setting it on point and different border ideas as well as hanging sleeve options.

This class is for anyone that has not sewn before, or maybe has attempted to sew, but a very long time ago. In this class you will learn how to thread a sewing machine, how to sew straight, curved, and corner seams. By the end of this class, you will have completed a simple project that introduces you to some basic fundamentals of sewing.

Got a future fashion design in your midst? Start them out early with Barbara?s Sewing for Kids Camp! Ages 9 and up.. Student chooses their project with guidance from Barbara. Open Sew - This is a self guided time for sewing. Staff will be available to make suggestions and minor input.

Open sew is the perfect time to finish those UFO?s you have Lying around the house. Pack up your sewing machine and unfinished projects and join your fellow sewing buddies! What open sew is: Open Sew is a social sewing club, where each persons stitches whatever they want at their own pace. You will have the use of our sewing room, irons, great lighting, mats, rulers and tools. Staff will be available for questions, but persons taking the class need to be able to work on their own for the most part. Sewing machines are available to rent. Open sew is not: Open Sew is not the time to learn brand new techniques or sewing machine, skills, and features. We would be happy to help you with those in classes design for the technique you?d like to learn. If we aren?t offering the class you need to ask! We?d love to be able to help.

Are you participating in the Jen Kingwell Block of the Month, Pick A Petal? This time is set aside for you to come in, take in the technique presentation and then stick around to work on your block/blocks/quilt. No charge for those participating in the program. Call to reserve your seat.

This is a great take along project!! Staying at your condo for the week, need something to keep busy? Try this modern spin on the traditional Japanese style of embroidery. Stitching can be used for decorative and functional purposes. Learn a new skill and take home a piece of history. Walk ins welcome. This is also a wonderful class to take with a group of your friends for a girls activity.

Did you take the Shibori Dying workshop with Debbie Maddy? Want to continue dying your fabrics but don’t want to keep a vat? Let us facilitate your creative desire to design more shibori!! We will have two vats set up, limited to 6 people. Must have taken the Debbie Maddy workshop. This is not a beginner class. You are self guided.

You have pieced the four piece Stack & Whack and you loved it! Now it is time to look at six sides and all the fun options available. Check out the One Block Wonder book (recommended, not required) and join us in an exploration of design. Student must have taken Stack & Whack 4 Patch or have instructor consent. Sign up for $30.00, monthly fee of $35.00 includes in house tutorials, patterns and fabrics for each month and quilt back. Join us after the tutorial for workshop time. King size quilt finishes at 108 x 108, instructions are included for a Queen quilt option.
