Learn how to make a quilt from start to finish. This class teaches all the tools, basic skills, terminology and hands-on experience to make a quilt. Student chooses lap or baby sized quilt. 6 sessions.

In this class, students will select a beginner level pattern, and learn how to measure and cut a commercial pattern. Course includes each step from this pattern prep through cutting and sewing of the completed garment. In this class you will learn about the basics of cutting a traditional Hawaiian applique, needle turning and hand quilting. You will make a small sample piece and leave with all of the basics and some history of the craft. Additional Kit Fee: $7.00

We will set up and maintain multiple indigo vats for our dyeing. Debbie will delve deep into the stitching techniques to resist the dye. She will also teach the classic folding, clamping and tying techniques used in shibori Indigo dyeing. This is not a typical indigo dyeing experience; we will go way beyond that, but it is open to all skill levels. The first day will be a half day starting at 1:30 so we can get the indigo vats prepared for the following days. The vats will all be organic natural vats.

This class is for anyone that has not sewn before (8year old - 100+), or maybe has attempted to sew, but a very long time ago. In this class you will learn how to thread a sewing machine, how to sew straight, curved, and corner seams. By the end of this class, you will have completed a simple project that introduces you to some basic fundamentals of sewing.Sewing machine in good working order, 1 yard of non-directional woven fabric, thread to match fabric, scissors, pins, marking pen or pencil, tape measure or seam gauge. It is recommended that students bring their own machine for class. If student does not have a machine, a shop machine can be rented for $5.00 per class. Sign up for $30.00, monthly fee of $35.00 includes in house tutorials, patterns and fabrics for each month and quilt back. Join us after the tutorial for workshop time. King size quilt finishes at 108 x 108, instructions are included for a Queen quilt option.
