Learn how to make a quilt from start to finish. This class teaches all the tools, basic skills, terminology and hands-on experience to make a quilt. Student chooses lap or baby sized quilt. 6 sessions.

In this class, students will select a beginner level pattern, and learn how to measure and cut a commercial pattern. Course includes each step from this pattern prep through cutting and sewing of the completed garment. We are proud to announce that we are supporting the drive by offering the Komebukuro class in exchange for a five to ten pound bag of rice. Or, if you would like to make a monetary donation please do so by selecting that cart item. Did you know that with a donation of $10.00, you can provide 22 meals? You still need to register (right here, no fee) and bring a bag of rice to class. All materials will be included, you bring your sewing machine (or rent one of ours). Make this traditional Komebukuro (traditional Japanese Rice Bag) in one session. In Japan, you can take your Komebukuro to the market and have the merchant fill it with the rice of your choice. But, you can fill it with all of your possibles!! Embellish it with sashiko (that?s another class with offer!!)

This class is for anyone that has not sewn before, or maybe has attempted to sew, but a very long time ago. In this class you will learn how to thread a sewing machine, how to sew straight, curved, and corner seams. By the end of this class, you will have completed a simple project that introduces you to some basic fundamentals of sewing.

Private Sewing Session

This is a great take along project!! Staying at your condo for the week, need something to keep busy? Try this modern spin on the traditional Japanese style of embroidery. Stitching can be used for decorative and functional purposes. Learn a new skill and take home a piece of history. Walk ins welcome. This is also a wonderful class to take with a group of your friends for a girls activity.

This small wall quilt is the perfect project for you to test the waters of quilting OR to make on island while visiting and take home with you.

In this class you will learn about the basics of cutting a traditional Hawaiian applique, needle turning and hand quilting. You will make a small sample piece and leave with all of the basics and some history of the craft. Additional Kit Fee: $7.00

In this one session class you will learn about color placement and basic half square triangles. A fun block to make and hang by your front door to welcome guests into your home. This is the PERFECT class project if you are a visiting quilter. We have machines you can use for the class for a $5 fee. Kits available or choose your own fabric before class.
